Mostly self-taught with a natural ability to draw at an early age. I lean toward realistic work and I pay attention to detail. I've worked with oil paints in the past, but mostly acrylics. Lately I am exploring watercolor and have done a few ink & watercolor paintings. My subject range is wide, including some custom portraits and pets.

Liberty

20×16 acrylic on canvas Remembering an old class field trip. The Statue of Liberty is so large! I did a little study before this painting. Her fingers are 8 ft long. The framing under the copper exterior is the same as the Eiffel Tower.

Octopus

12×12 ink & watercolor I did this underwater scene to match a theme in my main bath. I soon became fascinated by this creature! They are so cool.

Jasper

11×14 acrylic on oval canvas Jasper is a Sun Conure. He is a fond resident of the Nursing Home, delighting all who come to say hello. I did this from a couple photos and gifted it to the Nursing Home.

Freckles

11×14 acrylic on canvas From a couple photos. She had so many markings on her face, it was hard to find her eyes! She was a good cat who I got to visit with. Gifted to my neighbor friend after Freckles went to pet heaven.

Coat of Many Colors

16×20 Watercolor Since this was for me and not for sale, I copied the original artist’s work. For this, I included his signature in my painting. The figure portrays Jesus, and the colors and patterns in his garments represent the people and nations of the world.

Fireplace Mantle

20×16 acrylic on canvas From a photo; this was my in-laws’ fireplace mantle. They had a beautiful country home. The mantle was one big block of wood. On top of it were pewter dishes and mug with wrought iron and glass lanterns.

Cupie

11×14 acrylic on canvas I did this from a couple photos for a friend and resident at the Nursing Home. This was her dog who couldn’t live with her. I made up the background.
