Mostly self-taught with a natural ability to draw at an early age. I lean toward realistic work and I pay attention to detail. I've worked with oil paints in the past, but mostly acrylics. Lately I am exploring watercolor and have done a few ink & watercolor paintings. My subject range is wide, including some custom portraits and pets.
SK-1 Michael Jackson
8.5×11 pencil sketch from an album cover. My 70’s crush. Got to see him in concert years later.
Three Sleds
16×12 acrylic on canvas. I did this custom painting for a brother’s friend. My initial thought was “how do I paint stones?” Seems each painting has its own challenges. I later did a 10×8 of the same for a friend of mine.
Self Portrait #2
11×14 ink & watercolor. My first attempt at a portrait with this medium.
Self Portrait #1
16×20 acrylic on canvas. I did this for an art contest with Jerry’s Artarama, a supplier of painting supplies. I had to take multiple photos in front of a long narrow mirror and put them together.
Simpson Portrait
16×20 acrylic on canvas. From a couple photos, I did this for a friend as a barter. This was to be an anniversary gift. The painting included the border.
Morgan’s Graduation
16×20 acrylic on canvas. My first portrait? I painted this for Morgan’s grandmother.
UCONN
Acrylic on 18″ round canvas. One of the CT university’s revisions to their Husky mascot. I enjoy the UCONN Women’s Basketball!
Tom Cat
5×7 acrylic on canvas. I did this as a gift for my friend. Tom liked to hide out on her counter behind that lamp.
Rudie Girl
11×14 acrylic on canvas From a photo I did this for a friend after the loss of her beloved Rudy Girl.
